Skin Peels

Overview

Chemical peels are skin treatments that involve the application of chemical solutions to the skin's surface, causing it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. This treatment is effectively remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. By removing the old, damaged skin cells, chemical peels increase cell turnover and stimulate the production of new skin cells.

  • Here are some of the benefits of chemical peels and why they can be beneficial for maintaining healthy skin

Exfoliation: Chemical peels effectively remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. This exfoliation process can improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance

Hyperpigmentation and Sun Damage: Chemical peels can help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, including sunspots, age spots, and melasma. The exfoliation process helps fade these dark spots and even out skin tone

Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Chemical peels stimulate collagen and elastin production, which are essential proteins for maintaining skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

Even Skin Texture: Chemical peels can improve uneven skin texture caused by factors like scarring, blemishes, or aging. The exfoliation process helps create a smoother surface.

Minimised Pores: Chemical peels can help refine the appearance of enlarged pores by clearing out debris and encouraging the skin to renew itself, resulting in a smoother texture

If you're considering this treatment, it's important to consult with a medical professional. During the consultation, the healthcare provider will assess your condition, discuss your medical history, and determine whether this treatment is a suitable option for you.

  • Before the procedure, the clinician will assess your skin type and concerns to customise the peel accordingly. The process begins with cleansing the skin to remove any oils and dirt. The chemical solution is then applied, causing a controlled removal of the outermost layer of skin. During the peel, you may experience a tingling or burning sensation, which is usually temporary. The intensity of the peel depends on the type of chemicals used and the desired results. After the procedure, your skin may be red and sensitive, similar to a sunburn. Over the following days, the outer layer of skin may peel away, revealing smoother, rejuvenated skin underneath. It's crucial to follow post-peel care instructions provided by Kanvasd Clinic to ensure optimal results and minimise any potential side effects.
